Piran is a such a beautiful place, that we will definitely come back one day. We were amazed by the Venetian architecture and the calmness of the city. There´s no hecticness around and we loved that. We began our mornings with a cup of coffee and a light breakfast at Tartini square, named after the musician (composer, violinist) Giuseppe Tartini. The sea and the beach are also very clean and the water is warm. We enjoyed also our walks to the citys nearby like Portoroz and Lucia. You can reach this regions by feet in few minutes. We visited the natural park called Secovlje, known for the saline extraction. The salt of Piran belongs to Europe´s luxury articles and is the perfect gift. If visiting Piran you have to see the cathedrale of St. George as well as the city walls. Another fact we loved about Piran was, that dogs are allowed on the beach and the sea. For example in the nearby Portoroz it is forbidden to have your dog with you on the beach.
Croatia and Italy are not far away from Piran, so if you want to have a daycation you can do so. We have spent one beautiful day in Triest, an Italian city, only 36 km away from Piran. We have also planned a day trip to Venice, but unfortunately we learned in the morning of the departure day that they were troubles with the ferry boat. Since there was no substitute, out trip was cancelled.
This time we have decided not to stay in a hotel but to rent a house. We spent a wonderful week in the House No 1. Since we felt in love with this house, I will introduce the house to you in another article in few days on the blog. So stay tuned 🙂
