Multi-cultural, Viennese

How to be Parisian wherever you are

Why I want to show you a review on this book? Don’t we already know anything about the city of love? Although I have been several times to Paris visiting my family there and so knowing much about the capital of France I really enjoyed reading this book. I like how this book introduces to us the Parisian culture in a funny way. I am presenting you this book in the category Viennese, because this part of my blog should deal with all the migration and international topics. It was never supposed to subject only Vienna, but since Vienna is such a multi-cultural city and in honor to my home country I named this category Viennese.

The book „How to be Parisian wherever you are“ features some Parisians tips like how to spend time the Parisian way, some french recipes, how to set the table and an amazing adress book with the coolest locations. Further it describes the Parisian lifestyle of a woman – her habits and what she loves and hates. I love the fact that the most famous Parisian women are not real Parisiennes. This means they were not born there, but they were for sure reborn in Paris. Marie Antoinette and Romy Schneider were Austrians. Jane Birkin was British. Read this interesting chapter at page 10-14. When it comes to fashion Parisiennes don´t spend all the money on wardrobe all the time. They prefer to have this signature item they´ll be wearing like forever. This precious piece, whether it´s an expensive bag or a trench coat, brings her outfit together. Parisiennes love to shop at flea market and on ebay and they are real burgain hunters. Although I am not this type, I really like this idea and this is something to consider for the future.

While reading this gorgeous book I also asked myself in which way I am a little bit Parisienne and in which way I am not at all. I agree with Parisiennes that natural is the best. So do anything you can to be the best version of yourself, but do it without plastic surgeries. When it comes to friendships I am definitely a Parisienne. I am not the one having tons of friends, I consider few people as real friends but I know I can always rely on them, in good and in bad times and so they can always count on me. According to this book Parisiennes don’t let you easily in their hearts in but if so you have a lifetime friend! I like this! I am not a Parisienne when it comes to marriages and love relationships. This book says that everyone is cheating but denying when the partner has become suspicious. I would never ever be unfaithful! This is a dealbreaker and call me oldfashioned I always dreamed of this special one and in happily ever after! I couldn’ t be more blessed that Iwan is this guy.

What about you? Have you read this book? Are you a little bit Parisienne in any way?
